Located in El Horno, within the Barranco ( Ravine ) de Arguineguin, you are just a few minutes drive from the main ‘autopista’ on the Island - the G.C. 1 – which allows quick and easy access to the main tourist resorts in the South of the island.

El Horno is a small rural Canarian community, situated away from the tourist areas in the lower part of the Barranco de Arguineguin, which is easily accessible by a gently sloping road. It’s only 2 minutes away from the local village of Cercados Espino, with 2 supermarkets and 3 Tapas bars to choose from. It’s also just a few minutes drive from the coastal town, and beach resort, of Arguineguin, where you will find many restaurants, a shopping centre together with other local shops, and a twice-weekly market, which is held on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s.

We are also situated within easy reach of the main attractions of Playa del Ingles, Maspalomas, Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogan, which is also known as ‘Little Venice’, due to its’ narrow waterways and pretty flower lined streets and alleyways.

The climate is great all year round, ranging from 18 degrees to 35 degrees, although we do have very occasional rain. The ‘World Health Organisation’ lists the area around Arguineguin as having ‘probably the best climate in the world’!

We are located just 35 minutes drive away from Las Palmas Airport, and Gran Canaria’s capital city – Las Palmas – with its’ great shopping opportunities (both ‘El Corte Ingles’ and ‘Marks and Spencer’ are located on the main shopping avenue - the ‘Avenida Mesa Y Lopez’), historic buildings, beaches (particularly Playa de las Canteras), and parks, are just a further 15-20 minutes drive down the G.C. 1.

The ground floor comfortably sleeps 5 but can also accomodate a small single bed and a travel cot.

It consists of:

- Fully fitted kitchen with full size gas cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer.
- Dining area with table and chairs.
- Lounge area with 3 sofas, Hi-Fi and video/DVD combo (so you can bring your favourite CDs , DVDs and videos), and TV
- Bathroom with 4 foot square shower, W.C. and basin.
- 3 bedrooms - one double room, one twin room and and one single room - All with wardrobes and chests of drawers.
- In addition there are the following extras: Iron; ironing Board; kettle; toaster; cool box; fan; hairdryer; cot/cot-bed; highchair; and hand blender.
- There is also a mobile air-conditioning unit if required.

Outside the apartment you have your own patio area with:
- Table and chairs.
- Sunloungers.
- Reclining chairs
- Gas B.B.Q.

There is now also a newly installed spa which seats 6 people.

Towels and tea towels are both provided for you in the apartment, but you will need to bring your own beach towels. Or they can be purchased locally for € 5 each. Bed linen will be changed weekly, and towels twice weekly. In addition, for a small fee, we are happy to get some provisions in for you prior to your arrival, and to do your laundry for you if required, but an ironing service is not provided.

Our garden has a pool, but also has fruit trees, including oranges, lemons, avocados, banana, papaya, mango and coffee, and it is prettily lit at night.

Enjoy the panoramic views up and down the Barranco from our roof terrace. It is not overlooked, and is ideal for private sunbathing, although it is not suitable for children.

Car hire is advisable. Try Hertz, Holiday Autos, Avis, Record rent a car and Cicar. Or, if you have Tesco Club Card vouchers, book through them for a good deal.

Taxis charge € 45 from the Airport to the house, and € 15 from the house to Arguineguin.
